VCU RamStrong Well-being blog

Giving VCU employees the wellness resources they need to be healthy both on and off campus

The new RecWell website has launched. Check it out at: https://recwell.vcu.edu/ and check out their many resources listed below:

Resources

  1. VCU has an updated interim Alcohol and Other Drug policy. This policy is intended to provide additional resources to all members of the VCU community related to alcohol and other drug use issues. Additional information can be found here: https://policy.vcu.edu/universitywide-policies/policies/alcohol-and-other-drugs-interim.html
  2. The Division of Student Affairs has updated Keep on Being Well, a web resource for students, faculty, and staff to access important resources and support related to well-being at VCU. This resource is a great one-stop for all things related to promoting a culture of well-being at VCU. https://students.vcu.edu/dsa/keep-on-being-well/
  3. Attending to the needs of others while also balancing your own life issues can be challenging. Learn to recognize the signs of burnout and practice proactive ways to manage your own stress levels. Faculty and staff can access RecWell’s Mental Wellness Resource Guide to find additional resources
  4. VCU Faculty and Staff can take advantage of all RecWell has to offer through our many membership options. If you are interested in purchasing a membership or signing up for a trial membership, you may visit us in person at the Cary Street Gym Service Desk, 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. or 3:00 -7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, or 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. You may also email recwell@vcu.edu to set up an online appointment. Questions? Call our member services office at 804-828-9489.
  5. VCU Faculty & Staff can create profiles for You@VCU, a resource designed for students, to receive curated well-being information and to share as a resource for students. It’s also a great way to keep updated on what resources are available at VCU.
    1. You@VCU: There is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to well-being. Exploring all the ways VCU can support your specific health and well-being needs is a great place to start. You@VCU is an interactive resource designed to help you succeed. Whether it’s setting and working toward a new goal, managing your stress or finances, or getting tips for restful sleep, You@VCU customizes your experience to your needs and connects you with specific resources on-campus for additional support. Start your journey by customizing your profile at you.vcu.edu.
  6. RecWell Massage Therapy – Massage Therapy will be offered starting in July after the holiday.
