Wednesday, July 3rd – 12 pm

Deep Stretch

(Presented by VCU HR and VCU Recreation & Well-Being)

This is a slower 30-minute practice focused on active stretching of muscles and opening of connective tissue. Release built up tension, prevent injury, increase blood flow to muscles, and increase long-term flexibility. No equipment requirements, though a yoga mat is recommended.

Wednesday, July 10th – 12 pm

Lower Body Strength

(Presented by VCU HR and VCU Recreation & Well-Being)

This 30-minute lower-body circuit training is really going to challenge your muscles with moves designed to target your quads, glutes, and hamstrings. Option to add weights or just your bodyweight.

Building Tax-Free Wealth for Retirement

(Presented by VCU HR and Genuine Wealth Solutions)

This session will provide an overview of how to use different accounts and strategies to increase tax-free wealth before and during retirement.

Making Difficult Conversations Easier

(Presented by VCU HR Organizational Effectiveness)

This session focuses on speaking your mind truthfully and tactfully using skills from Crucial Conversations. Come prepared to learn and share best practices for making difficult conversations easier.

Kickboxing

(Presented by VCU HR and VCU Recreation & Well-Being)

This full-body circuit training takes the basics of martial arts and adds the fun. You’ll be punching and kicking your way through 30 minutes of strength and cardio. At the end of it you’ll walk away ready to tackle the day.

Social Security 101 –

Everything You Wanted to Know

Stress Management: Building Resiliency

(Presented by VCU HR and Anthem EAP)

Reconciling the demands of work and home life can be a source of constant tension. As a result, you may experience sleep disturbances, appetite changes, headaches, poor concentration, and irritability. Learn how to identify emotional and physical symptoms of stress, assess your own situation, and discover hands-on techniques to bring balance to your work and personal life.

Life’s Essential 8 are the key measures for improving and maintain cardiovascular health, as defined by the American Heart Association. Better cardiovascular health helps lower the risk for heart disease, stroke and other major health problems.

Sound Bath Meditation

(Presented by VCU HR)

A Sound Bath is a form of meditation that guides you into a deep relaxation state while enveloped in ambient sound. Waves of soothing, echoing sound from crystal bowls, gong and various instruments assist the mind-body with stress and fatigue. This is an in-person session. Bring a mat or a blanket with you if you have one.

Total Body Strength

(Presented by VCU HR and VCU Recreation & Well-Being)

This 30-minute session will feature a variety of strengthening exercises using your own body! Designed to provide you with a total body workout hitting every major muscle group as you build muscular strength and endurance.
