High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is a training technique in which you give all-out, quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods.

For anyone starting to think seriously about when to retire, this webinar takes you through five steps to deciding when the time is right, including estimating retirement expenses, closing any income gap and understanding key milestones that can impact your retirement finances.

10 warning signs of Alzheimer’s

(Presented by VCU HR and Alzheimer’s Association)

Have you ever noticed a loved one acting differently or not being able to carry on a conversation like they used to? As families start to gather for the holiday season, it’s important to know what the warning signs of dementia are, so helpful conversations can happen with loved one. Knowing the signs and recognizing them early could lead to an early diagnosis and give the family more time to get plans in place. Join us as we learn all about the warning signs and what steps can be taken if any changes are noticed.

Learning to Relax

(Presented by VCU HR and Anthem EAP)

In this workshop, you’ll learn about different relaxation strategies – including meditation, guided imagery, deep breathing, progressive muscle relations, and yoga – to find a technique that works for you. You’ll discover the potential health benefits of relaxation, and how you can be more productive during the day and sleep better at night.

Friday, October 13th – 12 pm

Deep Stretch

(Presented by VCU HR and VCU Recreation & Well-Being)

This slower 30-minute practice focuses on active stretching of muscles and opening of connective tissue. Release built up tension, prevent injury, increase blood flow to muscles, and increase long-term flexibility. No equipment requirements, though a yoga mat is recommended.
