Yoga with Sydney

(Presented by VCU HR and VCU Recreational Sports)

Take a break from your work day to explore some basic and foundational yoga postures that are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Participants will be encouraged to move mindfully, connecting their movement to their breath. Participants can expect an emphasis on simplicity, repetition, and ease of movement.

Budgeting in a Recession

(Presented by VCU HR and VACU Financial Success Center at VCU)

Join Carolyn McCrea, Director of the VACU Financial Success Center at VCU to learn ways to find balance during these unprecedented times. This interactive webinar will provide ideas and best practices for keeping financially well even when times are tough. During the session, participants will work on their own personal finances to help maintain stability during this crisis and through economic recovery.

Strength Training with Hannah

(Presented by VCU HR and VCU Recreational Sports)

Strengthen all of the major muscle groups in your body by participating in this Strength Training fitness class led by Hannah, VCU Rec Sports’ Group Exercise Coordinator! With a focus on high repetitions and lightweight, through the use of bodyweight, dumbbells, and resistance bands, participants will be guided through a series of exercises targeting the chest, back, arms, legs, glutes, and core.

For centuries, we’ve known that the health of the brain and the body are connected. But now, science is able to provide insights into how to optimize our physical and cognitive health as we age. Join us to learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement, and use hands-on tools to help you incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging.

Take a break from email notifications, meetings, and your to-do list to find a moment of quiet reflection in the middle of your day with our mindfulness meditation. Open to all and no previous meditation experience necessary, our mindfulness meditation will provide a sense of calm, peace, and balance, while improving attention, focus, and ability to work through stressful circumstances. Participating in mindfulness meditation is the perfect way to take a moment for yourself and recharge for the rest of your workday!
