PSA: Rise in Impersonation Emails
There has been a large flux of scam emails sent out to the community. Please be aware that you may have received one. The scam emails will usually be “[email protected]” and have a short subject line, we have seen “free”, “less busy”, “Dean of Department”, “Director of Department” and others.
The scammers will say that they are currently busy but need a favor. If you continue to respond, they will state that they need gift cards and that you should purchase some as a favor and send over the information.
Do not respond to the email when you receive it, please forward it to [email protected] for further investigation.
