Phishing Scams and Schemes Unveiled

This phisher sent out an email with a phishing link directing users to a Microsoft Share Point and then to another website. The final website was harvesting Microsoft usernames and passwords.

You can see a screenshot of the email below. The following should be going through our heads when we receive an email:

  1. Do I know this person? (Answer: Nope!)
  2. Was I expecting to receive an email with a document attached? (Answer: Not at all!)
  3. Does my organization use Microsoft to share documents? (Answer: Unless you work on the Health side, most users at VCU use Google Drive and Google Docs).
