Faculty: Publish your OER books on new, free publishing platform
VCU Libraries has launched the VCU Pressbooks platform for publishing open textbooks and other open educational resources. This initiative is part of a broader program of support for the use of open educational resources (OER).
Pressbooks is free to VCU instructors and makes it easy to create and edit materials and to collaborate with co-authors. Pressbooks is a WordPress-based online platform and can be used to adapt existing resources or start a new publishing project from scratch. Pressbooks supports embedded video, audio, accessible math notation, and H5P to include interactive learning activities and quizzes. Pressbooks also offers authors the option to embed their textbook directly into the Canvas interface, as well as robust analytics to track the impact of their OER publishing projects.
