TechTuesday

A weekly tip email from your neighborhood Instructional Technology and eHR team.

Tip #1 – Patient Folder made its debut a few months ago. It is a link in axiUm that opens a repository in Windows File Explorer. Here you will find a growing number of patient folders with CBCTs and STLs accessible by all. When you find a file or files that you want to use, we recommend NOT opening directly from this folder. Most of our machines have miPacs installed, so if you double-click any of these images, Windows will automatically try to open miPacs and import those files. We do not want this to occur.

If you need to use any files in Patient Folder, we suggest highlighting the line of text, called the File Path, right-clicking Copy.

In the Tx Planning software, like REALGuide, you can paste that File Path to easily find the 3d images.

Tip #2 – We are very lucky to have multiple instructional designers/technologists on our team. This can sometimes create confusion about who to contact. So, we have divided instructional technology support by course and assigned a dedicated contact person, so going forward all communication will be handled according to the delegation noted below. That person will be your main contact and will communicate with the rest of the IT team if other support is needed. You no longer need to copy all of us on any correspondence.

  • If you teach a course for DH3s, D1s, or D4s, your main contact is Bryan Harris at [email protected].
  • If you teach a course for DH4s, D2s, or D3s, your main contact is Stephanie Foreman at [email protected].

If you were working on projects outside of this delegation, you will be receiving notifications from Stephanie and Bryan about passing to the proper person. Alternatively, you can always submit a ticket and they will get assigned accordingly. Another, more detailed email will be going out to just course directors.
