Tech Tuesday – December 20: Strategies for Social Connections over Break
TechTuesday
A weekly tip email from your neighborhood Instructional Technology and eHR team.
Only one this week
Tip #1 – “Social connection can lower anxiety and depression, help us regulate our emotions, lead to higher self-esteem and empathy, and actually improve our immune systems.” CMHA.ca
Spend time with family and friends. Sow into those relationships and have an amazing holiday break! When socializing, try to eliminate screens if possible. If you need ideas, here are a few to spark some ideas.
- Have a holiday-themed dance party together.
- Host a cookie or gingerbread house decorating event (yes, you’re allowed to eat the ingredients as you build).
- Check out the holiday lights throughout the neighborhood.
- Try a holiday-themed scavenger hunt or escape room.
- Have a family game night filled with holiday treats.
- Do a good deed together.
- Host a movie night.
- Throw an ugly Christmas sweater party (can be combined with these other ideas).
- Decorate that Christmas tree!
- Make some holiday crafts as a family.
- Sit and read together.
Or…do nothing. Your body needs to recharge, so be ok with resting.Just being present is all that matters anyways.
Happy Holidays
