Tech Tuesday (pssst… theres 3 tips today!) – November 1: Saving Reports in Info Manager, Sharing Folders in Google Drive, and Spring Canvas Courses
TechTuesday
A weekly tip email from your neighborhood Instructional Technology and eHR team.
Tip #1 – The last few weeks have been focused on Info Manager. Hopefully, you can now craft those information-filled reports to your liking! Once you create them, you need to SAVE them! Here’s how:
Right-click in your report and click Save Report As.

If you are already in the report, ensure you have a name, and click Ok.

It will show up in the Pre-defined report list (make sure you are in the same tab and sub-section you were in when you created the report).

You have multiple options to the right. Make a New report, Edit the highlighted one, etc. If you want other users to have access to that report, you need to grant it. Start by clicking the “Access” button.

Select the level you’d like to share with, select the access permissions, and click the Modify icon. Users of that level will now be able to see your report.

Tip #2 – Last week’s tip covered how to share a single item in Google. Very helpful if you want to keep other files protected while giving access to that one. But, did you know you can share entire folders too!?
Right-click any folder and click “Share.” The process is the same after that. This is very helpful if you want to use one folder as a repository that multiple people have access to. Giving access to a folder gives the collaborators access to the files in that folder.

Tip #3 –SPRING CANVAS COURSES ARE HERE!!! If you are a Spring 2023 course director, you should see your Spring Canvas Course shell. Happy Canvas-ing!
