Tech Tuesday – October 25: Counting Rows in Info Manager and Sharing Files in Google Drive
TechTuesday
A weekly tip from your neighborhood Instructional Technology and eHR team.
Tip #1 – You’ve just created a report and now you need to know totals. You could count every row yourself or let Info Manager do it for you.
Right-click>Edit Report. The Operation button has options to count two things. The number of all the rows that your results include and the number of specific items in your results.

In this example, one number is the number of instances of “SIM” and the other number is the total number of results.

Tip #2 – An oldie but a goodie! We are a Google school for those that didn’t know, which means knowing at least the basics can help alot! The next few tips will focus on sharing. In your Google Drive, you can share individual files by doing the following:Right-click on the file you want to share>Share.

This next small pop up box indicates who already has access. You can see who is the Owner, who has Editing rights, who can Comment only and who can just View. You can also see General Access which allows the sharer to send a link to the file.

To share, following these steps:-Type the user’s name or eID (you will see names auto-populate as you type)-Select their permissions – Editor, Commenter or Viewer-Decide if you want to Notify the user or not-Click Send*PRO TIP* You can share with an entire Google group. Just know that Google sees it as one thing so the permissions you set for that group will apply to everyone in that group.
