Tech Tuesday- May 31: See a Provider’s Schedule in AxiUm and Gradebook Messaging in Canvas
TechTuesday
A weekly tip from your neighborhood Instructional Technology and eHR team.
Tip #1 – Students. Providers. Residents. Oh my! With all of this to track, it can be difficult to know where all providers are located at any given time/date. AxiUm makes it easy to see the schedule for a provider for an entire week. In Scheduler, go to the “Weekly” tab and click “<Select Provider>,” which brings up a search box, in which you can find a specific provider. With a provider selected on the “Weekly” tab, you can see that provider’s weekly schedule. A greyed out timeslot with Ex_ROT or In_ROT indicates a rotation at that location. Likewise, an appointment card identifies an appointment with that patient. Viewing that appointment by double-clicking shows more details including chair location.

Tip #2 – Have you ever wanted a quick way to remind students who are missing assignments? The messaging system in Canvas can help! To get started, open your Gradebook and click on the three dots next to the assignment you want to message about.

Then click “Message Students Who”. This will default to message students who have not yet submitted the assignment. You can also choose to Message students whose submissions haven’t been graded, students who have scored less than a certain amount on the assignment, or students who have scored more than a certain amount on an assignment. This could be useful in doing a batch message to your students who need remediation after an exam. Let us know if you have any questions and happy communicating!
