Purchase scam (1/11/19)

The following scam attempts to trick its victims into responding to the scammer, where the scammer will then issue additional instructions to commit fraud; such as wire transfer, bank account change, or fraudulent purchases. The scammer usually pretends to be a senior employee and asks the recipient to do something on his or her behalf. Notice the non-VCU email address, generic language, and overall odd request. These are signs of a scam. Please delete this message if you received it.
