The Email
In this email, Forage claims that VCU has setup a Forage Account for Jen. This email is coming from [email protected]. This is the legitimate email address for Forage, but you should still be cautious. Before you click the link, you should verify that the vendor has a partnership with VCU and that this email was intended to be sent. It is always possible for vendors to be compromised or exploited by threat actors. In this case, VCU does have a partnership with Forage, and this is a legitimate email. It is impossible to know every vendor that VCU uses, so don’t be hesitant to pause and verify.
Thanks to Jen for being cautious. If you ever receive a suspicious email, forward it to [email protected]. You can also be entered in our monthly Security Hero Raffle.
