Dear HR colleagues, please review the important updates below on timekeeping for the recent winter closing, updates to Form W-4, and new training opportunities.

Timekeeping procedure for winter closing 2019-2020

During the 2019 Winter Closing, all employees (non-exempt/exempt) were required to use 24 (3 days) of eligible leave for Tuesday, December 31, 2019, Thursday, January 2, 2020, and Friday, January 3, 2020. Refer to the timekeeping guides page in Inside HR to learn more about the timekeeping procedure for employees in your area.

Form W-4 update

The IRS released the 2020 Form W-4, Employee’s Withholding Certificate. Learn more about the changes and how they may affect employees in your area by visiting the payroll page. 

Conflict coaching sessions for managers

VCU HR is offering “conflict coaching for managers,” a training to learn best practices for informal dispute resolution. The training session is offered once per month through June: Jan. 17, Feb. 11, March 12, April 14, May 19 and June 16. To register, visit Talent@VCU.

Student worker ePAF live training sessions

Beginning in late January, the HR Operations team is offering hands-on training sessions to learn more about the student worker ePAF updates. Register at Talent@VCU.
