Employment verifications
VCU HR recently contracted with The Work Number to complete employment verifications, joining most all Virginia peer institutions in using this service. The Work Number services improve our customer service due to its 24/7 availability, including periods when the university is closed. This new process improves ease and efficiency for employees and employers. For more information, please visit the employment verification page.
University leave reminder
As a reminder, leave carryover and payout maximums will go into effect in January 2020. Employees with leave balances exceeding the maximum carryover amount will forfeit the additional leave hours starting January 9, 2020. The maximum leave payout will be applied to employees separating from the university starting January 10, 2020. Please encourage staff in your area to review their leave amounts in VCU eServices as well as the carryover and payout maximum chart. If the leave amount exceeds the amount the employee is eligible to carryover in 2020, please make them aware of these limits and work with them to use their leave. Managers are encouraged to be as flexible as possible with employees who request leave, especially during this transition period to the new leave plan for University and Academic Professionals.
