Dear Colleagues:

We are excited to deliver additional career development resources for managers and employees at VCU. This opportunity will provide you with the tools you need to successfully navigate the career development process. Additionally, we are providing you with a reminder about leave sharing for the upcoming calendar year.

Career Development Conversation mini-sessions
The HR Learning, Organization Development and Culture department has scheduled two additional Career Development Conversation mini-sessions for employees and one additional Career Development Conversation mini-sessions for managers during the month of February. All three sessions are open for registration in Talent@VCU. Due to a high level of interest in these sessions, employees and managers are encouraged to sign up quickly.

Leave sharing reminder
Leave share donations are available to Classified staff and salaried 12-month Faculty in the traditional sick leave plan for income replacement when an employee has exhausted their own leave balances for their own illness and/or during FMLA leave due to a family illness. It is also available to salaried Classified staff and salaried 12-month Faculty in VSDP when they have exhausted their own leave balances during an FMLA leave due to family illness. Please remember to share this information with employees who are going into an unpaid status for these reasons and review the donor and recipient procedures. here: http://www.hr.vcu.edu/current-employees/leave/leave-sharing/.

University and Academic Professionals may donate leave to the leave sharing pool, but have access from the first day of hire to short-term disability coverage for their own illnesses.  Eligible University and Academic Professionals may also access paid caregiving leave for family illnesses.

As always, thank you for your continued partnership and support.

All my best,
Cathleen C. Burke
Assistant Vice President for Human Resources
