Dear Colleagues:

VCU Human Resources is pleased to announce that the Great Place: HR Redesign will move to a continuous enrollment system. Beginning January 1, 2019, Classified employees at VCU have the opportunity to enroll in VCU’s new HR plan and become University and Academic Professionals governed by the Working@VCU: Great Place HR Policy. To enroll, click on the HR Redesign link in your myVCU portal.

In the new HR plan, University and Academic Professionals have access to market-based salary ranges, promotions in place, generous and flexible university leave, merit-based pay increases, paid parental and caregiving leave, enhanced disability benefits and alternative work arrangements.

Those who enroll keep certain state employee benefits, such as health plans, Virginia Retirement System benefits, life insurance and retirement savings plans. University and Academic Professionals remain state employees earning state service, but participate in a VCU-specific HR plan that is focused on career development and designed to recognize and reward work that supports the university’s mission and goals.

Visit Great Place Continuous Enrollment for more information about the Working@VCU: Great Place HR Policy, effective dates should you choose to enroll and a side-by-side chart comparing HR policies and programs that cover Classified employees versus University and Academic Professionals. If you have specific questions about the differences, please contact your HR Professional.

Currently, 70 percent of staff are University and Academic Professionals. Visit Great Place HR Redesign to discover how the great benefits of the new HR plan can enhance your VCU employee experience.
