Tech Tuesday – May 3: axiUm Messenger and Intro to Echo 360

It’s already MAY!!!!!
Tip #1 – In axiUm, Messenger, by default, will sync the last 3 week’s worth of messages. If that’s just not enough, you can adjust this so more or less will be synced.
Open Messenger>click the gear “Settings” icon>this setting is at the bottom. Adjust it as needed and click Ok.
Tip #2 – Echo360! We love it and we hope you do too! The next few Tech Tuesdays will be dedicated to this lecture-capturing platform. To get to Echo and see your courses and content, go to Echo360.org. Enter your @vcu.edu email, which will prompt login through the ubiquitous single-sign-on.
First stop – Library
This page will display all recordings that are either owned by you or shared with you. If a recording is created under a specific class, and you are the listed course director, you will automatically be labeled as the owner of the media.
Second stop – Courses
This page displays courses to which you’ve been assigned as the instructor. Clicking into any one of these courses will take you to the…..
Last stop – Course recording view
This page displays all recordings just for that specific course section (DENS 123 2022 Spring, DENS 456 2022 Fall, etc). This is exactly what the students see when they click into the Echo360 link in Canvas. Clicking the title of the recording will play that media. Clicking the green box to the right displays a menu with multiple actions for the media, but that is for next week (wow, another good cliffhanger!).
