Tech Tuesday – May 21: Using CARET for Leave Requests and axiUm Schedules
TechTuesday
A weekly tip email from your neighborhood Instructional Technology and eHR team.
Today’s tips are all about CARET because we are going FULL CARET^
Tip #1 – In CARET, a new leave system is here and it does it all! No, seriously; look at all the things this system does:
- Automatically block axiUm schedules ✅
- Automatically remove the block if the request is cancelled or withdrawn ✅
- Automatically send notifications to approvers ✅
- Automatically disallow requests if the student has a block in axiUm ✅
You can find a link to this new, completely redesigned Student Leave Request System on the Dentranet or here: https://caret.dentistry.vcu.edu/scheduler/leave
Training and instructions can be found here on Dentranet: https://dentranet.dentistry.vcu.edu/page/all/studentleave
Tip #2 – Additionally, you can also view student axiUm schedules online in the CARET system, similar to a Google Calendar daily, weekly, or monthly view. Remember, CARET is mobile-friendly, so yes, students can now view axiUm schedules anywhere. When you click on rotation, in this new module, you can see other students attending. This will greatly improve coordination amongst students. Note that for appointments, we cannot yet disclose any Protected Health Information in this application.
