Tech Tuesday – November 8: Using Schedule Send in Gmail and Medication History in eRx

A weekly tip email from your neighborhood Instructional Technology and eHR team.
Tip #1 – Yea, I know it’s weird to see TechTuesday come out on a Wednesday. Believe me, it feels weird to type. But alas, as Eleanore Roosevelt said, “Learn from the mistakes of others. You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself” so let’s learn from my mistake. I could have used my Google Tasks to remind me to send out Tech Tuesday earlier. To do such without needing to actually send it on a holiday, I could’ve used Gmail’s “Schedule Send.” This little feature is found by clicking on the dropdown arrow next to the Send button.

You can pick a suggested time and date.

Or, specify a time and date.

Once you schedule an email, you can find and edit them by clicking “Scheduled” on the left Gmail menu.

Did I use Schedule Send for this email? You betcha!
Tip #2 – eRx taps into a nation-wide pharmaceutical database, which means you don’t have to manually add current patient medications! Here’s how:
Under Medications, click Show Medication History

If there are any medications, they will show below. You can check any of them and click Add to Active Medications to import them into our eRx. When you close eRx, they will sync back to axiUm.
