Tip #1 – Do you use App2Go? Here is an important update regarding changes that were implemented last night! As part of our infrastructure improvements, our office worked closely with the University to replace the current App2Go environment to increase performance, reliability, and uptime. ?

With many enhancements change is inevitable. Below are the changes that you can expect.

App2Go (also known as “Citrix” or “VDI”) is the main method of accessing axiUm and MiPACS in the predoc clinics and from off-site.  The App2Go environment is being upgraded and migrated to a cloud-hosted environment.

Changes to app2go.vcu.edu

Most users access App2Go/Citrix/VDI using their browser by going to https://app2go.vcu.eduOn Tuesday, April 11, https://app2go.vcu.edu will transition to a new website. 

There will be a new, yet familiar feeling, App2Go interface. The same applications and virtual desktops offered before will still be available for use. 

When you access https://app2go.vcu.edu, you will notice a logon banner displaying the “VCU System Usage Agreement” that you must accept before proceeding.  Click Accept.

After you click Accept, you will be introduced with a new Sign-In screen.  First, enter your full VCU email address in the format of [email protected] then click Next.

NOTE: Depending on your device and location, Citrix may automatically sign you in based on your windows login, and might not see the following screens.

You will then be prompted to enter your VCU eID password on the next screen.  Click Next.  

After successfully entering your email address and password, you will be asked to Stay signed in?  Choose Yes.


The first time you connect, you will be asked if you want to use the Citrix Workspace application to launch your App2Go session.  Many school computers already have Citrix Workspace installed.  Choose Detect Workspace.  If you do not have Citrix Workspace installed, you can choose Use web browser to run your App2Go session in a browser tab.

If you choose Detect Workspace and the Citrix Workspace app is installed on your machine, you will be prompted to Open Citrix Workspace Launcher.  Choose Open Citrix Workspace Launcher

You will then see a list of applications and desktops for use.  Click the DEN-VDINP item to launch your App2Go session.
