Tech Tuesday – October 4: Info Manager Tips and Reflection in Education
TechTuesday
A weekly tip from your neighborhood Instructional Technology and eHR team.
Tip #1 – βIt is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data.” – Sherlock Holmes
Let’s make sure you can get that data by sharing some tips about axiUm’s Info Manager. ![]()

Clicking a column header lets you input values that you want to search by. In the following example, we are searching for any provider number that contains “D23.”

Tip #2 – Feedback and reflection. We all need it; it’s how we improve. Our students are no different. Today’s tip is actually this article from the journal Academic Medicine. It’s about the importance of including feedback and reflection in clinical education. It closes with this proposed workflow: provide feedback and leave room for reflection. GP leaders are already leaving feedback via a Google Form and DH do the same via axiUm. Let students know the feedback and ask them to reflect on their appointments.
Categories Education Philosophy, Info Manager“The sequence goes like this: Pose a reflective question: ‘So what did we really learn from this encounter?’ Observe the reaction of the learners. Expect to learn from them. They often will surprise you with their thoughts; they may be more reflective than you realize”
