Tech Tuesday – September 20: Confirming Appointments in AxiUm and Canvas File Storage
TechTuesday
A weekly tip from your neighborhood Instructional Technology and eHR team.
Tip #1 – “If it’s blue, they’re coming to you!” (Our team likes rhymes)
It helps to know if patients are definitely coming to the appointment or not. In axiUm, this is referred to as confirming the appointment. The appointment card text in axiUm>Scheduler has colors, to visually identify the status of their appointment. To confirm an appointment and change the text from green to blue, right-click the appointment card>Confirm.
Patients can confirm if they are coming through a few methods: 1) The front desk personnel or the student provider calls and confirms. 2) The patient confirms on the patient portal. 3) The patient confirms through Intiveo, our appointment reminder system.

Tip #2 – Think twice before uploading directly to Canvas. Why? Canvas has a limited 2.1gb of storage space for each course. This may sound like alot and it is, if you only foresee uploading small files directly to your site. However, uploading multiple presentations files with loads of high-resolution images or videos will take up that space quickly. To see how much space your course has, click Files in the left menu. You will see all files that you’ve uploaded to your course. Below that, you will see how much space you have used of that course’s storage.
