Thank you, donors
- The Jurgen Comics contest, an annual VCU student competition dedicated to telling the story of banned art and encouraging discussion of the complex relationship between art and society.
- StudyWell programming, which since 2021 has provided more than 500 events for students ranging from simple crafts, massage chairs, yoga, giveaways, study sessions for specific communities, exhibits, healthy snacks and treats, Dogs on Call visits and more.
- Free lectures open to students, faculty and the community.
- A Book Artist residency.
What do all of these have in common? They are made possible due to the generosity of donors. These initiatives, and so many more, were highlighted as VCU Libraries donors gathered on May 14 for a thank you celebration. Tate Bernard, a rising junior and the inaugural Book Artist in Residence in 2024, was the featured speaker.
Guests were invited to participate in a white-board prompt asking What joy do you get from VCU Libraries? Here are just a few replies
