Mike Talley
Job Title:
Director, Application Development, Infrastructure and Business Intelligence
Hometown:
“I am from the southside of Richmond and am a proud alumnus of Virginia Commonwealth University… twice! I used to deliver “The Commonwealth Times” student paper to the Lyons Dental Building when I was an undergraduate information systems major at VCU. At that time the Boy on Stilts statue was in the Lyons lobby and there were escalators going to the second floor. I thought it was so cool.”
About Me:
“At age 12, I took apart my first computer running DOS and Windows 3.1 and put it back together with upgraded RAM. I did not think I would be a computer programmer because I was not very strong at math; however, I took a course in high school and fell in love with programming! I knew I wanted to write code to help solve problems and create new possibilities.”
Furry Friends:
“I reluctantly own a puppy named “Minnie”.”
Hobbies:
“My wife and I have four children ages 4 to 11 that keep us busy. I love coffee. I enjoy volunteering. The beach and Colonial Williamsburg are two of my happy places.”
Musical Interests:
“I can do a great Michael McDonald impersonation.”
Favorite Books, Movies, and/or Video Games:
“I enjoy reading about social sciences, business, and religion. My favorite movie is Clue (1985) and quote it often.”
