Job Title:
Instructional Design Specialist
Hometown:
Richmond, VA
About Me:
“I was a public school music teacher (mostly guitar and music technology, a little orchestra and chorus thrown in as well) for over 20 years before moving into instructional technology and dental education. It’s not as different as it sounds.”

Hobbies:
“I enjoy making music–I play guitar, bass, mandolin, and am learning banjo, and I also sing once in a while. I also like woodworking and creative writing, and am getting into biking after a 30-year hiatus.”
Musical Interests:
“If you ask me to choose one favorite band, my system will lock up and I will have to reboot. I learned to play guitar from The Beatles and Tom Petty and am currently a big fan of artists like Lake Street Dive and Jason Isbell. But also, if I had the chance to be in any kind of band, I’d play upright bass in a swing band.”

Favorite Books, Movies, and/or Video Games:
“I love just about anything written by Neil Gaiman, the movies “The Shawshank Redemption” and “It’s A Wonderful Life,” and Tetris. (I’m a little behind in my gaming.)”
