The Cabell Learning Commons opened this semester and has proven to be the hot spot for students looking for a relaxing environment to meet up for a little study time together. The second floor Learning Commons, a collaboration between VCU Libraries, VCU Technology Services and the Office of the Provost, features 14,000 square feet of academic work and collaborative space with 438 new seats, 93 Windows and Mac computers, 20 new laptops for the Laptop Checkout Program, 18 mobile whiteboards, 7 new group study rooms, and a new 1,100 square foot multipurpose room. After the ribbon cutting ceremony we spoke with some of the people responsible for making this new space a reality and students who seem to really like it. Check out the video below or on the VCU Technology Services YouTube channel.
