The VCU Technology Services Blog

Actually, the key is not to ever … never ever, share your eID password with any other person or online service. Recently there have been reports across the web about a service that allow students to share their school records with the service. This is not a good idea on many levels, but the key is to remember that your eID and password is your key to the kingdom that is your personal and school related data — not only does it give someone access to your VCU grades and financial info, but also access to read and send emails under your name or to get into your Blackboard account to post responses under your name, for example. So before sharing your VCU or any personal credentials stop and think about the impact.
