- Meeting with Amir Berbic, Dean of VCUarts Qatar, and other Qatar academic leaders;
- Education City Library tours of the College of Islamic Studies, Carnegie Mellon, Northwestern and Georgetown; tours of the Qatar National Library and its Heritage Library collections;

“I was honored by the gracious welcome and generous time everyone spent with me. I learned so much by meeting with everyone in addition to seeing spaces and hearing plans for their Innovative Media and Materials Library renovations, plus the addition of a Comics Lab in the Art and Design Library,” enthused Herold. It was a great experience and I look forward to many years of connection, collaboration, and collegiality. I will be delighted to return the hospitality when our Qatari colleagues visit the Richmond campus.”
