Nina Exner has been appointed to a new national position as an ambassador of the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) National Center for Data Services (NCDS)

The NNLM National Center for Data Services (NCDS) coordinates with other NNLM Regions, Offices, and Centers to provide training and resources to increase data science capacity among information professionals, in alignment with the NLM strategic plan.

This project has been funded with federal funds from the National Library of Medicine (NLM), National Institutes of Health (NIH), under cooperative agreement number UG4LM01234 with the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, Lamar Soutter Library.

Exner is VCU’s research data librarian. She has her MLS from North Carolina Central University and Ph.D. in Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to her extensive work on data and reproducibility, she is enthusiastic about librarians producing their own research, which is evident from her being an organizer of the Empirical Librarians Conference.

As NCDS Ambassador, Nina will assist with event planning, provide feedback on educational activities, update research data management advancements (such DMPTool developments), help to promote activities, and help foster relationships across groups.
