iPad Winner - Kelsie Clegg

The spring 2010 Student Technology Satisfaction survey just closed with over 900 students providing responses to the survey. This is a huge increase in responses from last year with over 700 more surveys being completed. We suspect the reason is that students were entered into a drawing for a 16GB Apple iPad once they completed the survey. The winner of the iPad was Kelsie Clegg, junior from Boise, Idaho, who recently picked up her iPad from the Technology Administration Building (Pictured).

We are just now digging through the responses but it is clear that the top three items of interest is wireless, wireless, and wireless. This is good because VCU Technology Services has been steadily working to increase wireless coverage on campus. Currently we have over 900 access points around campus and this summer we will be adding more as well as rolling out support for the 802.11n wireless standard.

The survey responses are helpful with planning for VCU Technology Services programs and initiatives. We will be posting the survey summary along with our plans to address the needs that come in focus as a result of the responses on the VCUTS Surveys & Feedback page. You can check there now for the survey from last year as well as updates on plans that were developed as a result of the feedback we received.

Thanks to all who completed surveys this year and be on the lookout for the survey next spring.
