Web Services Receives Award for VCU Mobile
Scott Davis, VCU Technology Services Director of Applications Services, traveled to the Blackboard World conference last week to receive the 2012 Blackboard Catalyst Mobile Innovation Award for his team’s work on VCU Mobile. VCU was one of the first schools to deploy a mobile application in 2009 to give the VCU community easy, on-the-go access to VCU resources from their mobile device. In 2009, VCU Mobile started out with event, news, maps, and course modules. Today VCU Mobile has grown to include useful resources such as augmented reality maps, library, dining, alumni and training modules. Be it an iPhone, Android, Blackberry, or some other web-enabled device, VCU is is always there in your pocket. Congratulations to the Web Services team!
