The VCU Technology Services Blog

VCU Technology Services is working to upgrade the current podium in centrally scheduled classrooms with a new touchscreen panel that will allow easier access and control of audio visual equipment. Media Support Services (MSS) debuted this new design this week at the 2011 Tech Fair. We asked for feedback from attendees at the Tech Fair and the overwhelming response has been positive. Attendees felt that the new touchscreen panel was easy to use and provided better access to the audio visual controls for the classroom. A new podium with more tabletop space is also part of this proposal. MSS is setting up the new podium and touchscreen control panel in Cabell Library room B36 so that faculty and staff can drop by to take a closer look. We need feedback before we can move forward. We’ll update this post, as well as post to our Facebook and Twitter accounts, with viewing availability for the new podium and touchscreen panel in Cabell B36 next week but if the times don’t work for you, and you did not get a chance to drop by the 2011 Tech Fair, take a look at the demo video below from the Tech Fair and send us your feedback. The more feedback, the better.
