getIT: VCUTS Adds Apple & Dell As Approved Student Computer Initiative Vendors For Student Purchases
This summer, VCU Technology Services (VCUTS) is providing our students with additional choices when buying their computer for college. Apple and Dell have both joined Lenovo as approved vendors for students to purchase computers that meet the Student Computer Initiative (SCI) minimum specifications. In addition, the G2G Mobile Computing student computer purchasing program is evolving into the getIT program for computer purchases. If you need a computer at student prices, the getIT program can assist you.
Categories UpdatesUsing the SCI specifications, our vendors have made models available that will serve most VCU students through the majority, if not all, of their undergraduate career at VCU. Dell and Lenovo offer accidental damage coverage for their computers at an added cost. Apple offers AppleCare which does extend their warranty but does not cover accidental damage. The fixIT Computer Service is available to provide service on a computer if needed. Our fixIT staff are certified to provide warranty coverage on Apple, Dell, and Lenovo computers here on campus.
