Announcing the Winners of the Expanding Networks of Expert Scholars Initiative
The Office of the Provost is thrilled to announce the recipients of the Expanding Networks of Expert Scholars initiative for the 2025 academic year. This program, designed to foster national and international scholarly networks, is a cornerstone of our commitment to academic excellence and collaboration and the culture of care that we maintain for VCU faculty.
Congratulations to the following distinguished scholars:
- Andrew Moon, Ph.D. – Department of Philosophy, College of Humanities and Sciences
- Daniel Morales, Ph.D. – Department of History, College of Humanities and Sciences
- Christopher Herrington, Ph.D. – Department of Economics, School of Business
- Xuewei Wang, Ph.D. – Department of Chemistry, College of Humanities and Sciences
- Rodrigo Spinola, Ph.D. – Department of Computer Sciences, College of Engineering
- Ethan Coston, Ph.D. – Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, College of Humanities and Sciences
- Sarah Meacham, Ph.D. – Department of History, College of Humanities and Sciences
These scholars will receive funding to invite leading experts to provide feedback on their projects, organize panel sessions, and give talks. This initiative not only enhances their research and helps them build networks who may serve as external reviewers for tenure and/or promotion, but also strengthens the academic community at VCU.
