TSA introducing $45 fee option for travelers without REAL ID
Starting February 1, 2026, travelers who are unable to present an acceptable form of ID, including a non-REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, will be able to pay $45 to use TSA Confirm.ID, an alternative identity verification system. TSA encourages travelers without REAL ID to pay the fee online before traveling. Travelers who undergo TSA Confirm.ID processing at an airport should expect delays.
Please note: This fee is not considered an allowable reimbursable travel expense.
