New doors swing open Oct. 10; new spaces open on Nov. 2
The new entrance of the new building, located on the Shafer Court “Compass”, will open to the public Saturday, Oct. 10.
The opening was postponed one week due to safety concerns. The installation of the custom-made vitrine glass, which is directly above the new entrance, was not completed on schedule. One pane shattered upon installation, and the replacement pane did not meet quality control inspection. So, there was an unavoidable delay while a replacement pane was manufactured.
The temporary entrance will close Oct. 10.
Furniture and equipment installation on the lower level, first and second floors will begin immediately. New spaces on these floors will open on Monday, Nov. 2.
New spaces on the third and fourth floors are still scheduled for completion by Dec. 14, 2015.
