Power outage: Thursday, Oct. 1, 6:30 a.m.
In order to inspect and approve all the life safety features in the new building prior to opening the new entrance Oct. 10, the electrical power to all of Cabell Library will be shut off at 6:30 a.m Thursday, Oct. 1. The outage will last about one-half hour. The emergency generator will operate, so there will be emergency lighting, and the elevators will operate one at a time.
It’s likely the audible alarms in the new side of the building will be heard in old Cabell Library, but no one has to evacuate the building.
