Students give input on new graduate student spaces, services in open forum
Graduate students gathered today at Cabell Library for a briefing and open forum about services and spaces being planned for themĀ in the new library. Feedback on the design was positive and they brimmed with ideas about their needs in the space and for services.
Associate University Library for Research and Learning Dennis Clark outlined some of the many features in the new Graduate and Faculty Research Center, sketched in this rendering:
- key card access for graduate students and faculty only
- 88 seats
- two group study rooms
- study enclaves with pocket doors for privacy
- a range of seating and work spaces, including traditional study carrels, a request from students
- power outlets at desktop levels in all furnishing
The best part about the new fourth floor reading room? It will have the best view of campus on campus.
