Apple is recalling certain Mac notebook computer system batteries due to a possible safety risk that may result in overheating. The affected batteries were sold worldwide from October 2003 through August 2006 for use with the following notebook computers: 12-inch iBook G4, 12-inch PowerBook G4 and 15-inch PowerBook G4. Intel-based Macbook and MacBook Pro systems are not affected by this recall. However, 15-inch MacBook Pro systems do have a voluntary battery recall related to another issue.
