NOTICE

Fall 2016 Student Parking Sales

Fall 2016 student parking sales will begin at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6 for the MCV Campus and Wednesday, July 27 on the Monroe Park Campus.

Due to the large volume of activity on July 6 and July 27, phone lines and customer service office locations will experience higher than normal traffic.  If you are unable to reach us by phone, we encourage you to send an email to parking@vcu.edu and a customer service representative will respond promptly.  You may also reach out via our social media channels at Facebook.com/VCUParking or @VCUParking on Twitter.

Prepare ahead of time

In preparation for the online permit web sale, please make sure you have the following:

  • A valid VCU eID and password – Please visit http://go.vcu.edu/eidfinder if you don’t know your eID and password.
  • A debit or credit card to make your online purchase
  • The make, model and license plate of all vehicles you may drive to campus
  • A complete address of where your permit will be mailed
  • No outstanding parking citations.  Citations can be paid online at http://www.parking.vcu.edu/parking/citations.

Accessing the portal

You may access the parking portal by visiting www.parking.vcu.edu and clicking on the yellow button in the top right corner titled, “Manage my Account” and then selecting “Get Permits” from the top dropdown menu.  Once logged into the online parking portal, you will be placed into a queue.  Due to the large volume of students accessing the site, please note that you may experience extended wait times.

On Campus Housing Permits

If you are currently registered as an on campus residential/housing student (on the Monroe Park or MCV Campus), you may also purchase a housing permit online on July 6.

Remember to print your confirmation page

After your purchase has been completed, you will need to print off the confirmation page, which serves as your temporary parking pass. Please place this sheet on top of your dashboard while accessing your facility until your new permit arrives. You should receive your RFID hangtag in the mail within 7-10 business days.

Addressing concerns

We are aware of the challenges that have occurred as a result of the recent conversion of our new parking and permit management system.  We have been diligently working with our parking vendor over the past few months to address these issues and have taken several measures to ensure students experience a successful web purchase.

However, in the event the online parking portal experiences technical difficulties on July 6, to ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to purchase their preferred location, the portal will be deactivated immediately and parking sales will be relaunched on an alternate date.  An alert will be placed at the top of the portal if this deactivation occurs.  Additionally, notifications will be sent via email as well as posted on Parking and Transportation’s Facebook and Twitter channels.

Questions?

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we launch fall 2016 parking sales.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding the July 6 sale, feel free to contact customer service at 828-PARK (7275).
