VCU Parking and Transportation

News & information

As the winter holiday approaches, we want to provide you with some important updates regarding our closing schedule and RamRide impacts.

Winter closing schedule:

  • In observance of VCU’s winter closing, the Monroe Park Campus and MCV Campus customer service offices will be closed from Monday, December 23 to Wednesday, January 1.
  • Regular office hours will resume on Thursday, January 2.

If you have any pending parking-related needs, please contact us before the closure to ensure prompt assistance.

RamRide Holiday Impacts:

In observance of VCU’s Winter break, standard RamRide service will be unavailable from Monday, December 23  through Wednesday, January 1. However, a limited service route will be available from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. during this time period. Two buses will run continuously from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. with stops at Eighth Street Deck, Sanger Hall, and 11th and Clay streets.

Impacted subscribers should utilize the following alternate parking arrangements:

Alternate parking arrangements

  • O Lot Subscribers: Park in the Eighth Street Deck.
  • A Lot (Oliver Hill) Subscribers: Park in the Eighth Street Deck or continue to park in A Lot (please note, RamRide service will not be provided from A Lot).
  • A Lot (Main Street Station) Subscribers: Park in N Deck or continue to park in Main Street Station (RamRide service will not be provided from A Lot).
  • I Deck Subscribers: Park in the Eighth Street Deck.

Your license plate and/or VCU ID card will grant you access to the alternate parking decks during this period. If you encounter issues entering or exiting, press the “i” button for assistance.

Reminders

  • RamRide has transitioned to the Ride Pingo app, available on VCU Mobile and through the Google Play and Apple app stores. Use this platform to track buses in real time.
  • Standard RamRide service will resume on Thursday, Jan. 2.

To receive a text reminder about this impact, enroll in VCU Parking and Transportation’s text service at go.vcu.edu/parkingalerts. For questions regarding alternate parking or the holiday service route, contact us at [email protected].

Thank you for your cooperation, and best wishes for a safe and happy holiday season!
