If you’ve found yourself working in Excel – or on paper – to drop the lowest of a group of grades (i.e., 1 of 6 quiz grades), this post is for you.  It’s easy to let Blackboard do the work:

  1. Create a category in your gradebook or use an existing one
  2. Assign that category to only the gradebook items that belong in that group
  3. Add that category to a total or weighted column
  4.  Set your preferred Weight Columns and Drop Grades values
