Construction Update: Cabell to be closed July 19
Due to a planned power outage, Cabell will be closed July 19.
Starting after Cabell Library closes on Friday, July 18, W. M. Jordan will be working with Dominion Power to switch Cabell Library to a new electrical feed. The power will be shut off to the building for the switchover, which will take at least eight hours to accomplish. The emergency generator will be operational during this time. However, once the new feed is operating, W. M. Jordan will switch the building to the new generator. This switchover is estimated to take 10 hours. During this time only the critical network equipment will have power from a smaller, stand-alone generator brought to the site for this purpose.
What this work means is that Cabell Library will be CLOSED on Saturday, July 19. Cabell should reopen as normal on Sunday, July 20.
