Open Education Network appoints Karen Bjork to steering committee
Head of Digital Libraries and Publishing Karen Bjork has been appointed to the Steering Committee of the Open Education Network (OEN).
As a leading authority in the open education space, the OEN is instrumental in making higher education more affordable and accessible. VCU Libraries has been a member of the OEN since 2016. OEN describes its purpose in this way: “We, the members of the Open Education Network (OEN), commit to working together to make open the default in higher education. When we advance open education loally and collectively, we empower faculty, remove barriers to education, and enhance student success. … The OEN is a vibrant and supportive community that advances the use of open educational resources and practices. Members benefit from and contribute to the global open education ecosystem.”
Bjork will serve on the Steering Committee for a two-year term, 2026-28.
