Save the date and plan to join the Friends of VCU Libraries Book Club Sunday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. for our next meeting. In conjunction with the appearance of author Annette Gordon Reed at VCU’s Cabell Library later in the week, the FOL Book Club will discuss her book On Juneteenth. We will meet in the Cabell Room on the 4th floor of VCU’s Cabell Library (or via Zoom if you wish to attend remotely).

Michael Dickinson, Ph.D., assistant professor in the History Department at VCU, will lead the discussion of this book which tells the important, extensive story of the intrinsic significance of Juneteenth to American history. On Juneteenth is a New York Times Bestseller and received the distinction of being one of the 10 best books of 2021 from the New York Times. It is a Washington Post Notable Book and one of the Best Books of the Year according to TIME, NPR, Oprah Daily and the Washington Independent Review of Books.

Please RSVP to kjgotschalk@vcu.edu for more info or for access to the Zoom link to attend.
