While summer temps have sizzled the Friends of VCU Libraries Book Sale Committee have been hard at work in the basement of the Cabell Library sorting books for the October Book Sale. Twice a month volunteers come to campus and sort books in a tucked away area of the library affectionately known to faculty and staff as The Dirt Room (the dirt floor, for which it was named, is long gone). This summer has been especially busy with book donations and indications are very good that we will have a spectacular book sale when we open to the public for shopping at noon on Friday, October 25th.
Friends of VCU Libraries members who have given at the $100 or above level in the last year are welcome to attend the presale starting at 9 a.m. on opening day and get access to the best we have to offer.
Gifts to the Friends of VCU Libraries support VCU Libraries’ James Branch Cabell Library and Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences. The Friends serve as a community gateway to VCU by sponsoring some of the most popular and respected public programs and events in Central Virginia.
Book Sale donations will be accepted until October 1st, 2019 at which time we will pause donations until November 2019 in order to prepare for the sale.
