The VCU University Academic Advising Board has awarded certificates of merit for excellence in advising to three members of the Department of Biology. “The goal of the UAAB Awards Program is to encourage a wider support and recognition of outstanding advising at Virginia Commonwealth University. Awards are presented across five different categories to individuals who have demonstrated excellence in advising, innovation and administration.”

Sarah Golding, Ph.D. received the 2020 Certificate of Merit for Excellence in Advising – Faculty Mentor. Sarah is an assistant professor and the director of undergraduate research for the Biology department and the special assistant to the College of Humanities and Sciences Office of the Dean for experiential learning.

Rachel Hill received the 2020 Certificate of Merit for Excellence in Advising – Primary Role. Rachel is an assistant professor and an assistant director of undergraduate advising for the Biology department.

Will Moran received the 2020 Certificate of Merit for Excellence in Advising – Outstanding Advising Advocate. Will is the office manager for the Biology department.
