Using the “zoom.new” feature
It’s now possible to start a Zoom meeting by simply typing “zoom.new” in the address bar of your web browser. Doing so will launch your desktop app and initiate an ad-hoc meeting in one easy step.
Bear in mind this action will result in a new, spontaneously created meeting with its own unique and randomly generated Meeting ID number, and can’t be used to start a previously scheduled meeting or your Personal Meeting Room, so if you’d like others to join you, you’ll need to use the “Invite” option to alert them to the meeting and its location.
Hopefully you’ll find this a quick and easy way to launch ad-hoc Zoom meetings in fewer steps than before. As always, if you have any questions about this or other Zoom features, feel free to contact us at [email protected].
